Where currency conversion is used:
Lesson 1: Currencies & Exchange Rates
Lesson 2: UGX โ Foreign (Division)
Lesson 3: Foreign โ UGX (Multiplication)
Lesson 4: Complex Problems (Today!)
Ask yourself these questions:
What currency am I starting with?
What am I trying to find?
Do I need multiple steps?
Does my answer make sense?
Choose the operation(s) needed:
Don't solve - just identify what operations you'd use!
DIVIDE (UGX โ Foreign)
MULTIPLY (Foreign โ UGX)
MULTIPLY both, then COMPARE
MULTIPLY, then SUBTRACT (multi-step!)
See the patterns? Understanding the problem is key!
Complete in your exercise book (5 minutes):
Problem 1: Convert 18 US Dollars to Uganda Shillings
Problem 2: Convert 17,400 Uganda Shillings to Kenyan Shillings
